A Força da Beleza-Prêmio Belvedere 2010

Dia 29 de Maio de 2010 será realizada a entrega do Prêmio Belvedere na Casa de Cultura de Paraty ( http://www.casadaculturaparaty.org.br/) ás 18hs com a presença da atriz Maria Della Costa entregando o prêmio ao vencedor ( http://www.hotelcoxixo.com.br/ ) .

À seguir, à partir das 20hs, será realizado o vernissage de abertura da exposição na Galeria Belvedere em Paraty.

Belvedere Gallery competition 2010-The Strength of Beauty.

Award ceremony on the 29th May at 6 p.m at the Casa da Cultura in Paraty with the presence of actress Maria Della Costa handing over the award to the winner followed by the opening of the exhibition at 8 p.m at the Belvedere Gallery.

25 pinturas, 1 fotografia e 2 esculturas de cerâmica ocupam o espaço da Galeria Belvedere na mostra Monaliseide Paratiensis que terá sua inauguração no dia 6 de Novembro e vai até 6 de Dezembro de 2009.
As obras são uma releitura da Gioconda de Leonardo da Vinci
e foram executadas por artistas residentes na cidade de Paraty-RJ.
O artista plástico Britânico William Duncan é um dos participantes.

O Mural

A idéia do mural, além do motivo estético, pois a parede estava coberta de pichações, é tentar melhorar a aparencia da região central alertando as pessoas , de maneira divertida de que podemos buscar melhorias para o nosso bairro.
Observando o Edifício Pop diariamente da janela de seu atelie, os artistas plásticos William Duncan e Alexandre Rezende , após algumas pesquisas de linguagens estéticas decidiram criar um mural de colagens que abrange desde de elementos da pintura clássica, até elementos da cultura contemporanea e da cultura pop. Abordando também o tema ambiental, a obra alerta para os problemas do desperdício de máteria- prima. Baseando-se na reciclagem a arte é toda feita com o uso de materiais que vão desde lona especial para pintura , sulfite, papel e imagens de revistas,com fotos de animais , plantas, e problemas sociais, tudo misturado em uma grande salada cultural simulando a memória ou até mesmo um computador cheio de dados que vazam para fora da obra.
Pensando assim os artistas acreditam estarem incentivando jovens e crianças a explorarem seu potencial criativo ao invés do vandalismo da pichação presente em todas as ruas da cidade.

The Mural.

The idea for the mural, beyond aesthetic reasons as the wall was covered in graffiti, was an attempt to improve the appearance of Sao Paulo's downtown area.

Looking at the Pop Building daily from the window of their studio,artists William Duncan and Alexandre Rezende decided,after some research ,to create a mural collage.They used pictures of classical paintings mixing them with contemporary culture and pop art.Everything used has been recycled and mixed into a great cultural melting pot.This simulates our memory or even a computer full of data leaking from outside the work.

Thinking in this way,the artists hope to encourage children and the young alike to exploit their creative potential instead of being involved in acts of violence present in all of the city's streets.

ENFRENTOU MARES E OCEANOS
EM BUSCA DO QUE ERA SEU

CHEGANDO LÁ ENCONTROU ALEGRIA
TUDO ERA FESTA, ERA COR E CALOR
MAS COM O TEMPO VEIO O FRIO E A VERDADE
E A TUDO ISSO VIU E OBSERVOU

VIU ROSTOS SORRINDO, VESTIDOS COM MÁSCARAS
VIU ROSTOS TÃO TRISTES SENTINDO PRAZER
VIU CORPOS PERDIDOS POR ANOS E ANOS
PESSOAS FINGINDO SORRIR SEM SABER

VENDO-SE SOZINHO SE POS A SONHAR
COM O OLHAR PERDIDO TENTANDO ENCONTRAR
VIU NO CAMINHO RIOS E SERPENTES
E DEREPENTE ENCONTROU...

AGORA JÁ NÃO É NECESSÁRIO O USO DAS MÁSCARAS
E AS EMOÇÕES CIRCULAM LIVRES AO REDOR

DESPITE THE SUN AND THE WAX WINGS
HE DECIDED TO FLY IN SEARCH OF HIS DREAMS
WHAT HE HAD, HE PUT AWAY IN A FISH BOWL
ALL TOGETHER WITH HIS SECRETS AND LEFT

EVEN THOUGH HE WAS SAD, HE SMILED
AND MARCHED TOWARDS THE UNKNOWN
FOR HE NEVER FEARED HIS DESTINY
ON HIS WAY HE FOUND A THOUSAND BIRDS

WITH NUMBERLESS VOICES HE FLEW
ON HOT COALS HE DANCED
BUT NEVER DID THE HERO FEAR
HE FACED THE SEAS AND OCEANS

IN SEARCH OF WHAT BELONGED TO HIM
ON ARRIVING HE FOUND JOY
AND IT WAS ALL FEASTS, COLOUR AND HEAT
BUT WITH TIME CAME THE COLD AND TRUTH

AND ALL OF THAT HE SAW AND WATCHED
SMILING FACES DRESSED IN MASKS
SUCH SAD FACES FEELING PLEASURE
AND BODIES THAT HAD BEEN LOST FOR YEARS

PEOPLE FAKING SMILE WITHOUT KNOWING
FINDING HIMSELF ALONE HE GAZED INTO SPACE
TRYING TO SEARCH FOR HIS DREAM
ON THE PATH HE SAW RIVERS AND SERPENTS
AND SUDDENLY HE FOUND IT

NOW MASKS ARE NO LONGER NEEDED
AND EMOTIONS RUN FREE
